My
love for baseball started with the Big Red Machine and the rise to
dominance of the Reds and the subsequent dismantling of the team
as costs to keep key people forced Perez and Rose to move on to other
teams. I played first base in order to emulate my childhood hero
Tony Perez. I loved his clutch performances at the plate and the
way he went about his business on and off the field.
I played baseball
from tee-ball through high school and fell victim to the fastball
with movement which forced my early retirement from playing the game.
I never gave up my love for the nuances of the game and how strategy
can have a big impact on determining the winner of the game.
My wife has encouraged the obsession
of playing fantasy baseball for 17 years and has accepted this as
my hobby which keeps me out of trouble. Krista and I have been married
for 11 years and we have two children Sam 7 years old and Ellie 6
years old. Though none of them are really baseball fans, they tolerate
my habit and keep me young with all of that energy. Currently Ellie
loves drawing pictures and webkins and Sam is obsessed with videogames
while Krista keeps us all sane.
